PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
This chapter includes the introduction, theoretical framework, conceptual framework, statement of the problem, hypothesis, scope and limitation, significance of the study and the definition of terms used.
Introduction
Theoretical Framework
This study is anchored from the concept of Social Cognitive Theory, presented by Bandura (1977) in which the idea of self-efficacy plays a central role in facing the changes caused by fearful situations and Self- determination theory proposed by Deci & Ryan (1985).
The concept of Social Cognitive Theory, proposed by Bandura (1997), the concept of self-efficacy may affect the behavior and thoughts of Students. If the students think that they are not capable of finishing …show more content…
This will be useful to the researcher to get the accurate results of the study. This model guided the proponents in order to arrive at expected results. The Input consists of the demographic profile of having a highest arte of self-efficacy and motivation to the engineering students in their academic performance. However, the Process contains the request permission to the author for the survey Questionnaire. Lastly, Output refers to determine who is gender has the highest rate of self-efficacy and motivation in terms of study. This research conceptualized the I-P-O System, which served as the directions of the research and it presented in Figure 1.

The researchers will be hand over survey questionnaires to fifty (50) participants, which comprises of twenty-five (25) boys and twenty-five (25) girls. The ages of said participants will be between the ages of 18-23 years old. The research study will be held inside the campus of University of the East.
The study is cover with engineer students in their academic performance at the area of University of the East, Manila. Relationship of self- efficacy and motivation are delimited in this research.
Definition of Terms
