Gender is defined as the state of being male or female. This typically used the reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones. There are stereotyped roles of males and females. After the birth of a child, parents purchase toys, specified clothes, and activities based on that factor alone. In socialization, children will develop social skills and a sense of self in accordance with social prescribed roles and expectation. Media plays an important role as far as influencing the perception of gender roles. Television and social media are two of the many ways people are influenced. When it comes time for the child to enter school, they have a general idea about gender. They know that boys and girls are supposed to behave differently. For uncounted years, masculinity in a males are defined by being tough, aggressive, and confident. Women are stereotypically characterized as emotional, dependent, compliant, and nurturing. When someone’s identity, appearance, or behavior falls out of the gender norms, they are described as transgendered. The protocol to interact with the transgendered student is to recognize them according to what they identify themselves as. In my classroom, this will not be the case. All students have high expectations of their academic work. In order to fulfill a fun and educational environment, lesson will be taught using real-world applications. It is proven students learn better when they can relate to the material. For activities, student will be placed in groups consisting of different sex, race, ethnicity, and level of achievement. This is a method where student can assist their peers with material they do not understand. This also gives the students a chance to learn about each and develop friendships with someone who is different from
