Gender has many ways of catching our attention, especially when it comes to certain ads. Role reversal dramatically changes the direction of the intended audience. If a muscular guy has been placed into a commercial it will catch the attention of the female gender. Males will not always understand the significant impact of a man in an ad. But if the scenario changed and it was a muscular man eating a burger it would appeal to both parties because men will picture themselves as the male in the ad. When women are looking at the ad they are referring to the ripped man and nothing else. Originally the ad has a woman provocatively eating a Hardees/Carls Jr. burger on the beach. The ad shows a girl sitting on a towel in a bikini, showing a huge amount of boobage, on the beach with her long brownish blonde hair flowing in the wind, dramatically eating a hamburger. …show more content…
After looking at the role replacement ad people asked the question, “Seeing men look like this is ridiculous. So why isn’t it with women?” *This is definitely a great question to be asked. It looks absolutely ridiculous having a male using the, sexy approach. Women just look so much more natural when engaging in this activity. It seems to be much appealing when a female does it, rather then having a male. Body language also plays a huge role when classifying if the position is more feminine rather than masculine.
After all does sex appeal really sell? Do we engage ourselves in the product or do we look at the object of affection? Do you even know what the product truly is? Is the ad even relevant to the product they are trying to promote? If the opposite sex of the model were being used would it still be as appealing? These are all questions we should ask ourselves when viewing an ad. Females who are viewing the ad might think they could be as sexually appealing at her. It’s like a confidence booster to
