In the beginning (Gen 1), the world was perfect and without sin. In Gen 3, Adam and Eve sinned. This created a separation between man and God. It is now necessary for people to be saved in order to be restored to right relationship with God. In the beginning, people had a sinless nature but now as a result of the actions in Genesis 3, people have a sinful nature. People have a natural tendency toward selfishness and disobedience. Salvation restores people and puts them on the path to become what God originally intended them to be. In Genesis 3:15 God set in place the plan of salvation. God said that the Serpent, or Satan, would be against humanity forever and that the offspring of Adam and Eve would crush the Serpent’s head. That offspring …show more content…
In Egypt, blood acted as a protecting agent. When the death angel passed over the houses that had the blood on the doorstep those inside were spared from death. Blood acted as a cleansing agent too. Leviticus 17:11 says that life is in the blood. Animals and their blood were used to atone for people’s sins. Different animals were sacrificed and their blood acted to cleanse people and make them right in their relationship with God. On the Day of Atonement, two goats were brought to the high priest. The priest threw dice and one goat was chosen as the scapegoat. On this goat, the priest would lay his hands and put on it all the sins of Israel. The other goat was chosen to be the sacrifice for the tabernacle. A bull was also chosen whose blood would atone for the priest’s sins. John says that if we walk in the light as Jesus did we show that we are believers and the blood of Jesus acts like a cleaning agent form sin (1 John 1:7) just like the blood of animals in the Old Testament Jesus’ blood though has a lasting effect where animals’ blood does not. Salvation restores your relationship with God in two ways. Once you accept Jesus you become saved postionally. You are now in right standing with God. You also start a journey as you become more Christ-like every day. Our salvation is conditional based on the choices that we make. As long as we walk in the light we show that we are saved. By grace we are saved through faith

One could argue that many, if not all, of Corinth's problems stemmed from a fundamental misunderstanding of the nature of the resurrection. Discuss how the Corinthians misinterpreted Paul's teachings on the resurrection and how that misunderstanding led to the various problems in that community. One of the big issues was that the people of Corinth did not understand the resurrection. The people of Corinth believed that they were already living as the exalted and they were reaping the benefits because that they already lived better than other generations. He has also continually given us a clear and defined way out of sin, and back into a relationship with Him. In Leviticus, God “…established laws for proper covenant worship and for ritual cleansing. The use of (animal) blood … nothing less than life itself, (would atone) for sin” (Arnold & Beyer, 2008, p. 124).…

He was a little boy who believed he was ready to receive Jesus as his Savior, but little did he know he would leave church with doubts about God. Ephesians 1:7 says "in Him we have redemption through His blood", the symbol of blood is present throughout Doctor Faustus and can be viewed in the same fashion. However, instead of receiving salvation through the blood of Christ, Doctor Faustus rejects it and therefore foreshadows his downfall from this choice. O 'Brien says "the Christian covenant had been sealed in the blood of Jesus” (8) and likewise, Doctor Faustus has signed the covenant in his own blood to exchange his soul for service, however, when signed the blood converges on the page which can suggest that it is rejecting the decision made by Faustus. Additionally, towards the end when Doctor Faustus has become aware of his wrong decision to sell his soul he says "One drop would save my soul, half a drop! Ah, my Christ," (Marlowe 5.2.80) speaking of Christ 's blood.…
