I deserve a Geico Achievement Award because I am a goal-oriented student who turns every possible opportunity into a learning experience that will prepare me for a successful future. In addition to my academic achievements, I am also a tutor on campus, using my academic successes to give back to students who are in need of assistance. To continue developing professionally outside of the classroom, I joined the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi, which is a business fraternity dedicated to developing professionalism in young men and women.

In recognition of my academic dedication since coming to the University of Iowa, I have been named to the Dean’s list each semester of my enrollment, and received President’s list recognition in the spring of 2018. Following my freshman year, I was approached by the assistant director for student success at the University of Iowa, and was offered a job as a Tippie Learning Coach based on my academic performance in the introductory level economics classes. Tippie Learning Coaches are a free academic support resource on campus for individual students and small groups enrolled in a number of introductory level business courses. In addition to this role, I am also a registered private tutor in all introductory economics courses and calculus for business. Helping other students reach their academic goals is powerful, because it serves as a reminder that not every student has the same learning abilities, but everyone wants to excel academically.
