Following my freshman year, I was approached by the assistant director for student success at the University of Iowa, and was offered a job as a Tippie Learning Coach based on my academic performance in the introductory level economics classes. Tippie Learning Coaches are a free academic support resource on campus for individual students and small groups enrolled in a number of introductory level business courses. In addition to this role, I am also a registered private tutor in all introductory economics courses and calculus for business. Helping other students reach their academic goals is powerful, because it serves as a reminder that not every student has the same learning abilities, but everyone wants to excel academically.
