There is a certain type of dedication that a 13 year old girl has for a band full of cute boys that she wants to marry. The excitement only builds when the concert is announced, and finalized when a white t-shirt is decorated with the last name of the cutest member written on the back like a jersey. April 11th 2014, the date circled in the Glee Calendar was fast approaching; in fact, the story starts the very afternoon before the concert. Churchill P.E class, the least athletic but surprisingly competitive place, causes the initial hiccup. Ultimate Frisbee does not seem like a deadly game; however, in this case it almost was. Somehow, in the mist of catching a heavily contested frisbee, I felt a push and was on the ground, my ankle not coming with me. Immediately the swelling began, I hobbled over to my PE teacher, who told me to go to the office for ice. When I enter the office, I am handed the smallest baggie of ice with only 3 cubes in it. My mom made a phone call to the venue, the best decision all day. She explained the accident and glanced at my heavily taped ankle. They obliged and gave us a pass to use the service elevator instead of the stairs. The concert was fast approaching and the lines of teenage girls clad in flannels and 5 Seconds of Summer gear grew rapidly. I stood next to mom with a special sticker on my sweatshirt and a crush under my left arm. We stood next to these two nice girls who chatted about who they saw in concert at the Filmore in the past months. 10 minutes before the doors opened, we were escorted through the freight elevator, and onto the general admission floor. My mom and I hustled to the merchandise table and picked out the cutest shirt and posters, and I hobbled over to the front of the ever growing crowd. Turns out my injury was good
