Same-sex marriage is a topic that has been debated for many years. Gay marriage should be allowed in the United States. Everyone has the right as an American citizen to marry whomever they wish to marry, same-sex or not. People who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender, are known as the LGBT Community. People who are a part of the LGBT Community will have more equality if same-sex marriage was allowed. Many people and cultures have a different meaning of marriage. However, marriage is an internationally recognized human right for all people. Same-sex marriage is also a civil right. The US Supreme Court ruled 7-2 in the 1974 case Cleveland Board of Education v. For example, gay couples can be as good of parents to children as opposite sexed couples. Just because you may not be the same as other couples because you are with someone of the same sex does not mean that you cannot be as good of a parent as them.
