Same-sex marriage is a controversial topic that has gained popularity day by day. Countries throughout the world are pressured with homosexuality being an issue of right or morality. Same-sex marriage is a threat to heterosexual marriages and should be prohibited. In the beginning, man and woman was formed to enter into an agreement known as marriage. This arrangement was the only form that existed, now a changing society has new ideas about marriage. The scholarly article, “Why Same-Sex Marriage is Unjust,” states “Civil ordinances that recognize same-sex marriage as comparable to heterosexual marriage constitute a rejection of the special social value of heterosexual unions, and to deny such special social value is unjust.” People are trying to add between a man and a man or between a woman and a woman. Society preserves heterosexuality and a marital union between a man and a woman as a model of normative behavior.
