Can’t we just love everybody and judge them by the car they drive?”-Ellen Degeneres.In society today, gays and lesbians are constantly harassed for being that way.They are considered “abnormal” and are “easy targets” by people who don’t like them. This has become a big problem not only in America, but in the rest of the world.
Gays and lesbians are living in a world where they are judged for liking someone of the same gender. Even though gay marriage is legal in all 50 states in the United States, that doesn’t mean that everyone is happy. They are constantly judged and made fun of and gay children in schools are sometimes constantly bullied for being that way. Despite the people that support them, there are still many that don’t. This constant bullying and judgement has led to the suicide of many gay and lesbian people.

They have feelings that can be hurt and hearts that can be broken. Some clerks are insisting that they have a "religious freedom" right to refuse granting wedding licenses to same-sex couples. This continues the treatment of same-sex couples as second-class citizens and creates real harm to dignity. Sure, these couples are told, you can get the service-but you have to come back in three hours or on Tuesday, or you have to go down the hall and see the clerk who's willing to help "you people."
This is not acceptable. A government employee's job is to help everyone who comes through the door seeking things they are legally entitled to have.
