Some people say that homosexual marriage is wrong, and that it should not be allowed. Homosexual couples should not be discriminated just because of their sexuality. All humans no matter their sexual preferences “are entitled to certain unalienable rights such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” which includes freedom of choice in relationships. The purpose of the Constitution is to protect the rights of all people. The Constitution also protects freedom of religion and freedom of speech and of the press.
Massachusetts was originally the first state to allow homosexual marriage; however, on June 26, 2015, homosexual marriage was legalized in all fifty states. Sixty one percent of Americans do not agree with homosexual marriage, and most people do not agree with it because of their religion or because they do not believe two people of the same sex should be together. Nontraditional marriage is a form of social stigma against people who are perceived to be non-heterosexual because of their beliefs, identities or behaviors. Privileged individuals, or the majority group members, are the main contributors of placing sexual stigmas on individuals and their minority group. Some say homosexual marriage is wrong because they do not understand that love wins. They do not understand that you cannot help who you love, and you should not be judged about it.
