Jean-Paul Sartre who is a philosopher that was one of the most significant thinkers of the existential movement created the understanding that there should be freedom for the individual to make their own choices, only if they accept the consequences given that they are as a result of their own decisions. If there is a higher authority such as a kind or God that prevents gay marriage or marriage between sexes that are not between a man and the woman, then it is a fallacy to the theory of existentialism. Sartre’s perspective on gay marriage might have been for it because gay marriage recognizes consequence which is a factor of existentialism. If the individual does not face the consequences of his or her actions then that person is considered to live a life than is not authentic.
