Personal Narrative: My School As Victims Of Bullying

On the 22nd of May, I graduated from Twinsburg High School; class of 2017 at E.J Thomas Hall of Performing Arts in Akron. Graduating from school has been a very big turning point for me personally. I’ve been through a lot as being a student in school as a victim of being bullied. I was a misfit as a child growing up, being a fatherless son and not like the other boys, I found myself unattractive. In school, I would do my work when supposed to, but I was always harassed by the other students. They would refer to me as a “fag” but most often refer to me as “gay”. This is because I didn't have a masculine voice at the time. I was less developed as a kid and never liked sports or followed the same fashion trends as the boys my age.
From Elementary school through Middle school, I would try to defend myself from those who were bullying me; I would either be reprimanded by the principal or sent to detention. I was constantly in an unavoidable battle with my bullies. I never picked the fight, but I would protect myself because my mom always told me “if they hit you first, you hit back and protect yourself.” I would always tell the teachers

I can recall a time where my mother expressed her disdain with the principal and teacher about the issues that have been going on in the school, questioning them “why do you all keep punishing my son for protecting himself from those who have been bullying him? It's not fair for him to go to you guys for help when he’s supposed to and all you guys do is sit on your ass, and just tell the bully to stop and that's it. Then, next thing you know; my son gets into a fight because the ones who were trying to beat him up until he ends up trying to fight them back to protect himself. Therefore, get sent to the principal’s office and punish both the assaulter and my son.” Overall, It nearly escalated to calling a meeting with the board of education because of this

This year has been a crazy one. I came from a public school, not knowing anyone, so I terrified and didn't know what to expect. I struggled with trusting others, time management and battling multiple tasks at once. Luckily, I had a lot of practice throughout the year. I did my observation in Mrs. Cameron’s kindergarten class at Valley View Elementary School. I went over spring break, so I stayed for three days in the classroom and got to experience what it is like throughout the whole day. Mrs. Cameron’s classroom had five tables for the students to sit and a rocking chair at the front for herself; although, she hardly ever sat. Mrs. Cameron did not have a teacher’s desk, but instead she had a chair at one of the tables with the students. There were posters on the wall that together made the alphabet, and others which displayed vocabulary words.…

Hey guys it's Haley, and as you can tell by the title, I decided to make a part two of my high school terrors just because I went to Reagan last night. Last night, I attended the Reagan open house and you could say that it went well. Once I arrived, I noticed the abundant amount of other kids that would also be applying to Reagan. That made me a little nervous. We all sat in the auditorium as a couple Reagan seniors talked to us about the opportunities that Reagan offers and basically their Reagan story.…

I was afraid to sharpen a pencil in second grade. My most vivid elementary school memories spring from instances when I was being reprimanded by an adult for doing something wrong. I did everything in my power to avoid those dreadful moments, but they still presented themselves on occasion. Even now I feel a pit in my stomach when I recall the way I felt during those times, regardless of the fact that almost all of them would easily roll off my back if they occurred today.…

Being kind to each and every person you talk to can be challenging, but the impact that you may have on them can be remarkable. School is one of the cruelest places for a pre-teen or teenager. Girls and boys can single you out and laugh at you because you do not look the same. Many children feel as if they are not as good as others. Three years ago I was in seventh grade at Greendale Middle School.…
