When planning a vacation, many will book hotels on the coast of the beach, assuming this to be the best option. It’s inexpensive and one of the most popular vacation spots. But a vacation the mountains? Absurd. However; Gatlinburg, Tennessee is one of the best vacations you will ever take. It is a home away from home; a relaxing getaway to the mountains.

Gatlinburg has by far the best sights of any spot one decides to visit. Imagine catching your breath as you step into the crisp air one morning during the winter season. You gaze upon the snow capped mountains and spot all the cabins that appear to be warm and even remind you much of holidays back in Georgia. All throughout the year, the city offers activities for anyone of any age, that keeps tourists coming back annually. You do not have to be a kid to be a kid on the outskirts of the Great Smoky Mountains. Downhill skiing at the top of Ober Mountain, whitewater rafting, and hundreds of miles of hiking trails that wind around the beautiful landscape are just a few of the many outdoor activities you can participate in. Not only that, but a weekend get away with your best friends calls for a variety of live music venues or a night on the bustling streets of downtown or attending an entertainment show at the Comedy Barn with the Hatfields and the McCoys, or at the Smoky Mountain Opry. Maybe a lazy stroll through downtown better suits you, peering into the windows of the endless shops downtown has to offer. A must-stop visit to the candy shop will keep everyone entertained as they watch the Smoky Mountain Candy Makers stretch famous ‘Hillbilly Taffy’ to their liking, or maybe stop to observe the Evergreen in the middle of the street decorated for the holidays.
