With a loss of affection, Matt is leading towards an isolated life. His character seems to be heading down a dark path throughout the story, and he is not the same character he was by the end. Dubus reminds the readers just how abruptly and adamantly their lives can be changed. Life is unpredictable with emotions like love that can make people do unreasonable things like murder. However, Matt’s action “is a rational act, an extermination to eliminate Strout from their world and end Ruth’s pain” (Kennedy 121).…

The novel I chose for this assignment was A Northern Light, written by Jennifer Donnelly. Overall, I would say I enjoyed this read, my favorite part of this novel was following the relationships between the main character, Matilda or kindly referred to as Mattie with her father, her town, and her friends. I would recommend this novel to readers who enjoys a romantic storyline based off a true events and/or enjoys reading about crime. A Northern Light, follows the life of Mattie Gokey and her struggle to decide what she should do with her life. The main struggle she faces is the decision to go to college, which would be a first in her family, or to stay at home and fill in the role of her late mother.…

In the movie “Coach Cater”, I was able to identify many factors that relate to Maslow theory. The reason would be because players like Timo, Worm and Kenyon did have their physiological needs “air, food, drink, shelter “(Mc Leod, 2017), but even though they had their first stage, they lacked the other four other stages such as, “safety needs, love and belonging, esteem needs, and self-actualization” (Mc Leod, 2017). For example, Timo lacked all four other stages, which made him start hanging out with gangs and dealing drug. I believe the character that had all the other four stages would be the Damien. The reason that I state this would be because Damien did not have any problems with his social or personal life throughout the movie.…
