To begin, tobacco is a depressant that is very addictive. Smoking tobacco and chewing tobacco both have the effects of nicotine. Nicotine is a colorless, odorless drug that stimulates the nervous system. Nicotine is the drug in tobacco that makes people addicted. This drug dulls taste buds, stimulates the nervous system, constricts blood vessels, increases heart rate, and increases blood pressure. Tobacco comes in many forms, such as, cigarettes, cigars, snuff, chew, vapes, hookahs, and pipes. When tobacco is smoked, carbon monoxide is released. This is a odorless, tasteless, colorless and poisonous gas. Also, when the tobacco burns, tar is produced and it is very hard to get rid of since it is a thick, sticky fluid. Streamline smoking occurs when a person smokes right from a burning cigarette, a cigar or a pipe. Smoking affects the respiratory system and can cause increased heart rate, stroke and heart disease. Since all three gateway drugs are harmful and can lead you to doing harmful things, everyone should try to stay away from using
