Director Gary Ross wants to tell the audience the situation in this district. He wants the audience noticed that how poor they are. They live in shabby wooden houses and do not have enough food to eat. Katniss, her mother and her sister wear plain, simple and kind of cheap clothes. Katniss try to hunt some animals to support her family. When they want to buy something, they use other item to exchange with the seller. Finally, those setting can easily notice the different between low-class and up-class people.
