With Halloween fast approaching, it's everybody's favorite time of the year to creep themselves out with stories of famous serial killers. Though you've probably heard of Ted Bundy and Charles Manson, the 10 most prolific serial killers are likely people you've never heard of before. Without further adieu, here are the top 10 most prolific serial killers in the world, according to the number of confirmed victims.The most prolific serial killer in the United States, Gary Ridgway was a truck painter popularly known as The Green River Killer. He confessed to killing 71 women, all of whom were sex workers from Seattle, and he is suspected of killing more than 90 women in total. He was active from 1982 to 2000. He is currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.Anatoly Onoprienko, also known as "The Beast of Ukraine," "The Terminator," and "Citizen O," is from Ukraine and was an active killer from 1989 to 1996.
