The libertarian Party of the United States has had a record breaking year as far as voter support goes a with a 6.7 percent polling average (Scher 2016). In the past voting turn out for the libertarian party had reached its all-time high by hardly surpassing 1 percent of the vote; however, with Gary Johnson as the parties presidential candidate they have seen much more popularity. This potential electoral outcome of over 5 percent could mean the establishment of the party according to the Federal Election Commission as an “Official “minor party” (Scher line 20), which would result in the party receiving substantial funding from the government towards their following campaigns. I think that any aspect of life referred to as “human nature” is not something that can simply be blanketed over the entirety of our population; but, there is certainly many things that the majority of humans, as well as most other animals if not all, are naturally inclined to do, some more than others. The natural trait of humans, which I believe to be true, that I think would simply ruin any chance of a Night-Watchmen State’s success is that of self-preservation. Not that I believe that all humans are greedy, I do believe greed comes from our natural self-preservation, I believe that we like all animals will put ourselves and usually also our offspring above anyone almost all of the time. Do to this trait and its resulting greed and general disregard for the wellbeing of others (if we can get away with it), institutions in a minimalist State would probably be awful. When private, unchecked, unregulated corporations are in control of things like: electricity, street maintenance or selling groceries, the best interests of the people often wouldn’t be kept in mind. The interest of course would often be to benefiting ones’ self, or ones’
