Gary Bettman, the National Hockey League commissioner, said that the NHL will not be participating in the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. The NHL has been going to the Olympics since 1998. Many fans and players are upset and, even angry at the NHL for not sending their players to one of the greatest hockey tournaments in the world. Some cons for the ban are. There was a poll in Canada to see if people were with Gary Bettman or against the decision. 62% of the people said that they did not like the fact of having no NHL players going to the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. This will not be good for ratings and viewers as many people were really looking forward to watching their favorite players playing at an even higher level of hockey
