As I look back at my life and try and determine what specific event or experience that changed me and directed me towards a collegiate goal, I have a hard time deciding which one it might be. In my experiences I have learned that it usually takes more than one to change a person’s life direction. At least for me, if it was not for a series of events, I would not be where I am at today.
I grew up an addict. I started when I was fifteen years old and never looked back. I chose to be friends with the wrong people which led me to do bad in school. I did not graduate from high school, but I did get my G.E.D. less than six months after I dropped out. I went to a junior

Soon after that
I left for Colorado to work for Keystone Resort where I learned to ski. I spent five years in
Colorado one in Silverthorne and the other four in Ft. Collins. That is where my addiction seemed to take off and where I would find myself in more trouble.
Fast forward. I moved back to Kansas City and started working as a remodeler where I excelled. This type of work afforded me all the things I needed. This is where my addiction started to take a real turn for the bad. I had started hanging with those old friends again which most are deceased now. Somehow my mom had caught wind of my issues and she decided to buy me a ticket to Guatemala so that I could learn Spanish, my mom is from Guatemala. I had an all expensed paid trip to party as far as I was concerned. Long story short, I met my wife two weeks in, who is a Christian and we were married two months after that. Shortly after we were pregnant. GARVIN SESSION 1
