Garrett Morgan Character Traits

Garrett Morgan only had a sixth grade education, but that didn’t stop him. The sixth grade education got him very far. He invented a gas mask and a traffic light that helped the world today. He also fixed sewing machines on his free time among all the things he has done. The three characteristics that were helpful to Garrett Morgan were passion, confidence, and resilience.

Passion is the first character trait that Garrett Morgan had. Passion means you have joy to do something. Morgan had passion to save people. Morgan felt happy to help people. If he saw someone in a fire he helped them to get out. Also,he had passion to make things when they were needed. When something was needed like the street lights and the safety hood he would make it. Confidence means your not scared to say or do something and you hold your head high with little to no fear. He had confidence that his safety hood would help people. He kept trying to get people to try on his hood so they would realize it worked. The second evidence is he brought his hood to World War 1. When he brought his hood to WW1, he had confidence that his hood will be helpful to the soldiers. He was a confident person who wanted his things to help people.

Resilience is the last character trait that Garrett Morgan had. Resilience means something or someone that is really sturdy. He was a very resilient person when he went into a building to save people. When a building was full of gases he did not let the people stay and die he went into to building to save them. The tools he made were really resilient. The stoplight and safety hood are very strong and sturdy.
