I believe the memoir Boy Erased should be chosen for the next Bristol Community College's OneBook. This memoir has many relatable lessons for a diverse college like ours to examine. This book gained critical acclaim in 2016 and became a motion picture in 2018 with a scheduled release for this September. This memoir, written by Garrard Conley a gay man follows Conley's own journey as a 19 year old through rape, a suicide attempt, conversion therapy and how he broke out and found happiness. Themes like family, love, homophobia and the LGBTQ community are brought up in this memoir. This book explores important issues.
