The Garden of Hope Community Development Corporation exists to provide comprehensive programs and services that will strengthen individuals, families, and neighborhoods, serving families and individuals experiencing social, economic and moral deficits. The Garden of Hope is a nonprofit Community Development Corporation founded by Pastor Kirk T. Houston Sr. and sponsored by Gethsemane Community Fellowship and programs such as trinity treasures. The Trinity Treasure Resale Store is designed to financially support programs and services offered through the Garden of Hope, Inc. With the resale store, the organization funds the clients they serve, such as transportation, the cost for G.E.D. testing, youth programs, food, clothing and emergency shelter. …show more content…
The case manager role is seen in the second chances program, where they provide comprehensive supportive services that lead to stability for men and women released from incarceration. The role of the educator is present in the GED/ Adult Basic Education program and K.I.P. Care Program (Keeping It Positive with Kids of Incarcerated Parent) initiative. The GED/Adult Basic Education program, facilities and educates individuals who attend the classes provided to the community in order to obtain a GED or Adult Basic Education. Moreover, PALs trains, teaches, inspires and empowers parents to become effective advocates for their children through the development of essential leadership skills for engaging and collaborating with others to acquire positive outcomes for their children academic, social and economic futures. If the client is experiencing difficulty that might be grounded in the relationship between their cultural group, the agency, or the dominant society I would seek multicultural awareness and acceptance. In order to better assist the client, I would focus on guiding treatment of culturally different clients in ways that acknowledge their unique worldviews while still being compliant with the agency policy and
