Chapter 8 talks mainly about the Garbage project and its founder Bill Rathje brought it into being. The purpose behind the Garbage project was to have his students study the trash around the community. This was started when two of Rathje students decided to look at different groups in the community’s trash. The main purpose of his project was to make people become aware of what is inside of there own trash. To show people this he studies American houses and came to the conclusion that families don’t understand the amount of unhealthy foods that they consume compared to healthy foods.
