Riordan Manufacturing is faced with some issues, challenges and opportunities to increase their sales and profitability, improve employee satisfaction, and improve their customer relationships in an effort to help them remain competitive in the marketplace. In this research an analysis will be conducted to evaluate the situations that face Riordan Manufacturing. This analysis will identify the issues and opportunities, explore the stakeholders’ perspectives, and review the problem and the end state goals. Once the analysis is complete the leadership team at Riordan Manufacturing will be able to put together a problem solution to begin to tackle the issues faced by the company.

The biggest challenge faced by Riordan Manufacturing is the ability to increase their employee satisfaction and motivate staff to perform so that Riordan Manufacturing can meet their strategic goals.
To meet their strategic goals Riordan Manufacturing has some issues and opportunities that must be identified to help them come up with a solution to their problem. The first issue is the declining sales and profits at Riordan Manufacturing have caused company to change it sales processes in order to adopt at more customer-relationship management system. This system allows customers to be serviced by a sales team as opposed to an individual sales person. As a result of the changes that have been implemented by Riordan Manufacturing’s leadership team they have seen a decline in employee retention and employee satisfaction. The opportunity is as a result of the strategic change the in the sales department Riordan Manufacturing has an opportunity to improve sales and increase customer satisfaction. To improve sales Riordan will need to increase its employee satisfaction. One way Riordan Manufacturing can increase employee satisfaction is by using Motivation. “Motivation is the willingness to exert effort in a particular way” (Dreher &Dougherty, 2001, p. 27).
