We, the Griffith Field placement students associated with Ganyjuu Child and Family centre planned and organised an soft entry approach that engaged all stakeholders. Initial planning entailed comprehensive discussions between students and practitioners of Ganyjuu, regarding possible ideas for an early intervention and prevention event, whilst identifying a need that was aimed to give children the best outcomes and reduce the likelihood of poor long-term outcomes of children and their families experiencing significant disadvantage (Moore & McDonald, 2013). Throughout collaborating we came to the decision of organising an event that addressed the wellbeing of grandparents raising their children within the grandparents group (Appendix 2).
