Quality Area 6 is an area of the National Quality Framework (2017) that articulates the importance of collaborative partnerships with families and the community, with the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (2017) arguing that these partnerships are essential for excellent outcomes for children, and the surrounding community. Perspectives, strategies and recommendations have been explored to implement into the center to improve their practice of Quality Area 6. The following case study looks at four different childhood developmental perspectives and recognises one to be the best-suited perspective for Bessie Street Children’s Centre to improve standards of relationships and collaboration with families and community. Early experiences have intense impacts on development and learning, proceeding to superior intricacy, self-regulation, and figurative capacities. My research will be a 3x2 qualitative experimental design, which allows me to learn about each person’s experience and examine how children who grow up with same-sex parents achieve academically compared to children who grow up in other diverse family structures. The independent variable is family types (step-parents, single parents, same-sex parents, and traditional parents), and the dependent variables are the subject of study (math) and academic performance, measured by the ECLS-K study. These methods will be modified from Potter (2012) and will, therefore, be an extension of his current research. Procedure Before beginning the experiment, participants’ parent/guardian will read and sign a consent form explaining the benefits of the experiment. One reason why we decided to work with the Dorothy Day House stems from us the importance of family dynamics and how parents want nothing more than to ensure their kids future. Another reason the Dorothy Day House caught our attention was that they house any type of family. Their families are diverse in make-up, size, age, religion and ethnicity but share the common bonds of poverty and homelessness (“Dorothy”). The Dorothy Day House does not criticize people when it comes to housing families, but rather look at what they can do to help. This foundational thinking comes from their Christian namesake, Dorothy Day, whose ideals we too admired.…
To ensure a well-run, purposeful program that is responsive to participants needs, caregivers use planning, observation and documentation to support children’s development. In the book “A Path Appears” by the winning journalist Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn wrote about making chances to create opportunity to change for better. It was published in September 23, 2014. The first thing I did before I read the book, I looked the summary from the back and the author’s background to better understanding. The introduction of Path Appears, grabbed me attention because there has little short stories about people who made it change and impact on themselves or for the community.
