It all began on a normal Tuesday in October. Autumn had brought high winds and heavy downpours, which had resulted in a dreary cold and wet weather. In fact, the weather was so awful that Sophia could not venture out for the past three days. In the afternoon, I took a tiny glance out the window. I noticed it was now clear enough for the walk my dad, and I planned to take Sophia out. Since I still had around 3 hours left before he arrived home, I had decided to watch Criminal Minds and Blue Bloods. It had been shocking how overthinking had drained all the energy out of my body. The walk today was supposed to be pleasant, however, it turned into a battle with my thoughts and a race to reach home. In the past, I had walked this exact path numerous times with no problem. I had wondered why had today been so different. Right at that moment, as if reading my mind, it appeared to me! One of the best parts of Franklin Park had been its circular shape. Regardless of the direction we start, as long as we travel all around, we're sure to run into the same person twice. As all of us reached the final stretch, thanks to the park's shape, I ran into the same walkers that I had mistaken to be males in a gang. I realized my dad had been right; they were indeed all female. They had been wearing loose sweatpants and black jackets, so from a distance you could see them as male, especially with their hair in that bun. The limping had been from their jogging, and the red colored cloth hanging from the pants had been a red wristband that each of them wore. "Have a safe journey home” Those were the words they exchanged as they jogged by us. I felt extremely horrible for having assumed all that I had. They seemed friendly and caring. I had been utterly upset at myself for envisioning them as a gang. I close my eyes, took a deep breath in, slapped both hands against my cheeks and exhaled to clear my mind.
