There are very many kinds of gangs that are located in rural, suburban and urban areas. They are also described as locally, nationally and transnationally occupied. These categories are based on their degree of organization, whether loosely or highly organized groups, their longevity and location (Weisel, D et el…2002).
One of the gang organizations are the troublesome youth gangs that comprise of the adolescents who involve themselves in some forms of criminal behavior. These gangs normally have strong leadership, codes of loyalty and sanctions. However the leaderships depend on the structure of the gang. For the street gangs, they are loosely structured and therefore have temporal leadership as well as membership. This is opposed to the larger criminal gangs. Therefore the size of the gang is the main factor that contributes to their organization, leadership and the hierarchy of the group (Buckingham & D, 2008).
Local, regional and supersized gangs are all groups of street gangs. Normally local gangs are not well established hence they are small and tied to a specific area. For regional gangs, the area they occupy is bigger as compared to the local gangs. They occupy an expanded neighborhood. In addition to that they are longer-lasting. The super-sized gangs cover a larger area e.g. cities, countries or even states.
To be able to deal with these gangs, law enforcement ensures that the youths are prevented from joining the gangs. For the existing gangs, the law encourages them to be transformed into neighborhood clubs so as to help the community in conflict resolutions, intervening and mediating between neighborhoods.so as to completely prevent crime and violence, recreation activities and prevention study programs have been added to the school
