A medical mission is a wonderful opportunity to broaden my horizons and build character. It is an excellent time to experience the practice of medicine in another country. This also presents the opportunity in advocating health literacy to the less fortunate people. This can make a huge difference simply by talking to patients about different health determinants such lack of good eating habits to even something simple as using clean water. For example, informing people about what they need to do and why it’s important can have an impact on some people in community. I believe the biggest game changer is equipping people with the education that will empower them to make better informed decisions about their health. I hope to practice my leadership
