It made me realized that events are never just black or white. Before this event all my opinions were always one sided. A case that about everyone can relate to is having a one-sided opinion on a robber stealing someone’s valuables. Any person would think that the robber is a bad person. But What if the thief was someone such as Robbin Hood? In one case he is a good person for giving to the poor, at the same time though, he is a criminal for taking stuff from other people. I never become mad anymore for people doing something that I don’t like. I always find myself thinking “He/she does not know any better.” Or “He/she is doing what they think is ok.” As a result of these thoughts it always cools my emotions. The event also has changed to become more open about people’s thoughts, opinions, and ideas. Even if the opinion is the opposite from mine, I still take the take the time to listen and compare it to my own. Lastly, the biggest way the experience shaped me is that now, I always consider all facts and opinions before making a decision or forming an opinion. If I’m reading up on a big current event I try to look at all the related sources I can to get the big picture. Furthermore I would try to figure out what stats are true and what facts are biases and, I would also look at opinion on both sides of the argument before coming to a decision or
