Multitasking has become very popular in classrooms, and students are overwhelmingly engaging the use of technology in classrooms whether it is cell phones or laptops. There are multiple types of research that are done to evaluate the impact of the cell phone usage on the academic achievements of the students. This literature will examine the correlation between cell phone usage and overall academic performance of grade point average of the students. There is a number of researchers that looked into the correlations between classroom texting and the academic performance of college and university student. According to research done by (Sylvia, 2013), there is a strong negative impact that in class texting has on the final grade of the students. Literature Review

Future studies need to explain wisely why would student jeopardize their academic achievements and risk their potential to obtain good grades. What is the psychology behind texting while in class, why are the student so eager to text during class that they are not able to wait until the finishes? It is incredible how student think that they are able to multitask and get many things done at once and how actually the human brain works. Conclusion
