“I told you not to place money on that horse! Geez you never take my advice! Now get your butt out of my house, I can’t stand the look of ya!”
“Hold ya horses Vito, I’m goin I’m goin.”
“Next time I see ya give money away like that, I’m gon be pissed!”
“Please, relax will ya.”
“Get the hell outta here.”
Henry Tomasino and Vito Scaletta, two childhood friends, are middle aged men in the Italian Mafia. Besides drinking and killing, these two friends gamble on everything. It started in 1933 when Henry and Vito’s friend, Carlo Falcone, got them into gambling at the age of 19. Two men began brawling at bar and Carlo had them bet money on who would win.
“C’mon now Henry who ya got in this fight.”
“Oh no Carlo, hehehe, my Papi beat it into my system never to gamble. Don’t want that Gambino coming near me again.”
“You really listen to everything that man says to you, gambling can’t hurt Henry. What’s one time gonna do, huh? What about you Vito, what you think?”
“Well Carlo, I’ve always wanted to try it. Promise nothing bad will turn on me?” Vito asked.
“Oh oh Vito, such a curious fellow ever since your mother gave birth to you. Na, not that I know of, hehehe.”
“I got twenty five on the drunk in the blue flannel.” Vito yelled.
“Alright, alright and I got 30 on the drunk in the orange sweatshirt.” Henry said.

The gang heads out to Sunny Orchards, and set up the course for the race. As the sun started setting Henry and Vito both had their animals in their hands. It was quite a funny sight to see two brawly gamblers standing there, Henry with his tortoise, and Vito with his hare, stroking them lovingly. Because they are gamblers, both make a 75 dollar wager on their respective animals. They draw a line in the dirt for the starting point and they agree the race will last 100 yards and the finish line is right past the park
