One organization that resembles Gamara Program is Chrysalis, which is based in California and creates a pathway to self-sufficiency for low-income people and the homeless through provision of the resources and support crucial in finding and retaining employment. Through Chrysalis, individuals can find jobs and transition out of poverty onto prolonged self-sufficiency. The organization hires the homeless people for day jobs, such as beautifying the community thereby restoring the dignity of such individuals. Chrysalis was established in 1984 and has since helped more than 55,000 people through employment services and programs.
