Statistics can help with a wide variety of things from finding out on average which candy bar is cheaper, to finding out a more serious statistic like the average people that die on any given year. Many organizations like Gallup have formed over the years to help find out some of these statistics to help improve the world around us. These statistics have helped businesses save money, and even helped people save lives. Gallup is an organization that carries out analytics and offers advice to help leaders and different organizations help solve some of the world’s most leading problems. This poll in particular helps track some of the most important issues worldwide, such as food access, employment, leadership performance, and well-being. After the poll is conducted, the Gallup Senior Scientists then advise on the development of a common set of statistics that were collected in every country in the world. The World Poll survey includes a variety of more than 100 global questions as well as region-specific items, depending on the topic at hand. Gallup asks residents from Australia to Pakistan the same questions, every time, in the same way. Gallup will use PSUs that are stratified by population size and/or geography where population size is available. When they are selecting households, Gallup uses random-route procedures to select sampled households. Interviewers will attempt three times to collect data from a household before they will mark it off their list. When selecting respondents, in face-to-face and telephone methodologies, random respondent selection is achieved by using either the latest birthday or Kish grid method. Using these methods, each survey consists of at least 1,000 individuals.
