Galileo's Afraid Of Failure

It is still true today that everyone will face some kind of hardship in their life, whether it be failing one test or failing out of college. This quote is still applicable today because of this; The important thing is getting back up or trying again after failure, and not letting your failure control what you do. If everybody let the fear of failing consume their lives, there would never be any progression, and no one would ever try anything new. For example, if Galileo had been afraid of failure he would have bowed down to the Catholic Church, and we may still not believe the Earth revolves around the sun. Even when nobody believed him and he was being convicted of heresy, he still kept on trying despite it until he was proven right. Though

Excerpt from Brain Jack by Brian Falkner: “‘Why suddenly self-destruct when you’ve already won?’” (165). I chose this excerpt because of its simplistic but yet meaningful message. It conveys a message to people who are having or hardships or issues within their life. It basically means that a person should not become stressed out or depressed about issues because in the eventually, that person is going to succeed.…

“How much you can learn when you fail determines how far you will go into achieving your goals” -Roy Bennett. People do not always learn from their mistakes, even when given a second chance. When people make a mistake they do not always see the problem with their mistake. Sometimes they make the mistake again. "Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence" I have had many ups and downs over the course of my life thus far. One specific example of this took place during my freshman year of high school. When I started high school it was very challenging for me, partially due to the fact that; during this time, I was lazy, unmotivated and did not really take school seriously. This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…

This quote inspires me to endure any hardships I experience for two reasons: it reminds me that there could be more difficult events I could face, and that my reward for enduring it will be a meaningful life experience. Because everyone experiences hardships in life, I can look at this quote and be reassured that I am not the only one with a certain problem, but I am also convinced that many people live through more severe events and therefore I can definitely withstand whatever life may give me. When I look at this quote, I recall all my past troubles and, more importantly, what I learned from those. The quote is similar in message to the “hang in there!”…

One thing this quote tells us is that if you are struggling with something, then you are getting better at it. One example of this is lifting weights. “Throw me to the wolves and I will return leading the pack” Unknown I can relate to this quote because it’s just like when someone is being mean to you, and about that you learn something that you are much strong then they say you aren't, but when they come back to say something you are much stronger and you can handle them. Also why I chose this quote because it’s like you are proving someone wrong like you can do it when someone is saying you can’t do it. Another reason why I chose this quote is because it is worded very nicely and it gives the meaning of what it means away when you understand the concept if this quote. I think this quote means that you can handle…

Hopeless Humanity An Analysis of a Colin Wilson Quote Colin Wilson was once quoted as saying, "The average man is a conformist, accepting miseries and disasters with the stoicism of a cow standing in the rain. " While this quote can be interpreted many different ways, like most quotes, I think that Wilson is trying to say humans sometimes lose hope and let whatever happens happen to them. Most of the time this Wilson quote rings surprisingly true when you examine the average life of a normal human being. In some cases, we see individuals with an abundance of perseverance and determination that will stop at nothing to get what they believe they deserve.…

In the popular teen-fiction novel, Twilight, Stephanie Meyer writes “Just because we’ve been… dealt a certain hand… doesn’t mean that we can’t choose to rise above- to conquer the boundaries of a destiny that none of us wanted”. Just because one has a bad life or their life takes a wrong turn, does not mean one shouldn’t try to change. This quote fits today because a lot of people have been rising above the odds or fighting for what they want or deserve. People should fight to make their way in life to get what they and other people deserve, no matter the situation. Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, fought for other people's rights.…

Everyone has a different perspective and interpretation about failure. Some people see failure as an unpleasant thing or a limitation of their capabilities, while others see failure as a learning opportunity or a guide on how to become better. For example, in the article, “Want to Get Into College? Learn to Fail,” the author, Angel B. Perez, implies that failure should not be feared because it is not as harmful as most people think it is. He points out that failure is necessary if we want to succeed in college and in life.…

Galileo’s scientific method over time changed the underlying philosophy and overall aims of scientific research. Before Galileo’s notion of the scientific method we use today scientists use to have to understand the ‘why’ as well as the ‘how’ of their discoveries. Causing them to dwell in the world of philosophers instead of scientific observing. Galileo’s scientific method influenced and changed the direction of what was once a science of god and theology science into the path of pure observation. Galileo also quantified science stipulating that a scientist should explain phenomena mathematically and use experimentation to prove it with the use of hypotico-deductive methodology.…
