Galileo Galilei is one of the early men that helped to develop and discover the world, as we know it today. The man, who most people simply just call Galileo, was a brilliant mathematician, astronomer, and scientist.
Galileo was born on February 15th, 1564 (Galileo Galilei). He, his parents Vincenzo Galilei and Guilia Ammannati, and his five siblings were in the middle class but Galileo was still given the opportunity to attend the University. Galileo was encouraged to study medicine so in 1583 he entered the University of Pisa (Galileo). At the university, he stumbled into a mathematics lecture in which changed his perspective and scientific history forever. In the mid-1590s Galileo began to agree with Copernicus. He said, “Like you, I accepted the Copernican position several years ago and discovered from thence the cause of many natural effects which are doubtless inexplicable by the current theories" (The Trial of Galileo: An Account). He kept most of his thoughts to himself and a few friends. One of the friends he shared his discoveries with Kepler. He said to Kepler, “I have not dared until now to bring my reasons and refutations into the open, being warned by the fortunes of Copernicus himself, our master, who procured for himself immortal fame among a few but stepped down among the great crowd."
