What were his discovery’s?
When he was younger and had only just come out of university he helped Niccolò Tantaglia mathematically describe ballistics and the force of friction. Then after discovering more about moving objects he invented his first telescope in 1609 with 20 times the magnification allowing him to have a closer look at the moon. Then a year later published his findings called “The Starry Messenger ” talking about how he discovered four of jupiters moons, lots of new stars, the phases of venus and sun spots then confirming that the sun rotates and the planets orbit around the sun and not the earth. Galileo's observations have confirmed Copernicus' model that the sun is the centre of our Solar System. Then in 1613, he published the Letters on Sunspots which identified the sunpots the …show more content…
After experimenting with moving objects, he established his "Principle of Inertia built his first telescope in 1609 which he then could look at the moon and then a year (1610) later published his results about the highlands and "seas" of the Moon, four of Jupiter's largest moons, and many newly discovered stars. He also discovered the phases of Venus and sunspots, thereby confirming that the Sun rotates, and that the planets orbit around the Sun, not around the Earth. Galileo's observations have confirmed Copernicus' model that the sun is the centre of our Solar
