Through his experiments, Galileo figured out the motion of the tides to prove the debating topic about what the center of universe was. Aristotle thought that the Earth was the center of the universe and so everyone believed in what the great Aristotle had said. Soon after, the Copernicus theory came out to be which detailed that the Sun, not the Earth, was the center of the universe. Galileo did not believe in the Copernican theory at first, however looking through his telescope he saw something that no one had seen. Through his experience with the motion of tides, he showed that Earth, indeed, was not stable but rather moving around in the cosmos. Through his knowledge and insight, Galileo proved that the Sun was the center of the Earth. Although he had proof on what he had done, the society nor the Church believed the idea of heliocentrism. As a result, his attempt to have his ideals accepted by the common people became unsuccessful and he soon became regarded as an enemy to the other scientific authorities. Even after all the contradiction Galileo received, he tried a different method to show the truthfulness in his work. In his book, The Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief, Galileo demonstrated the truth of the Copernican system over the Ptolemaic system by proving that the earth was the center of the universe. Throughout his lifetime, Galileo discovered many things through his own imagination and knowledge. His telescope helped him discover Jupitar and Saturn and show that moon orbits around these planets. Through this discovery, he proved the Copernicus heliocentric theory was correct. Even though his discoveries were correct, he was criticized for not believing into religion and the Churches belief. People did not want to accept the scientific truth but rather believed in what Bible had to bring. Not only was he considered an outsider when he was alive, but even after his death, was Galileo thought of as an outsider. Fearing the authority, Galileo’s body was placed in a room below the bell tower of the Basillica of Santa Croce (Bonechi). Because of the unrealistic belief that the church had, Galileo’s death was not even given importance. After centuries later, Galileo was given his title of what he had proven. In 1992, his astronomy that was deemed untrustworthy was given a value and acuity. All his life, he was kept as an outsider for thinking beyond the “truth” and after his death, he was also kept as an
