Galileo Galilei was born February 15, 1564 in Pisa, Italy. He was a Tuscan (Italian) astronomer, physicist, mathematician, inventor, and philosopher and his father was a musician. His father had planned for him to study medicine, but he went to study mathematics. Galileo had many accomplishments / developments that change our world even till today. Galileo had many accomplishments that made him different from other people during the 15th century. He acquired his knowledge since his dad sent him to university to study medicine, but he actually went to study mathematics. He became smart at what he did and as a result he was awarded a lecturer at the university he went to and many more. Prior to receiving that award, he had to leave the University of Pisa because he had insufficient funds to pay for it. So he went back home and during that time he wrote an essays on hydrostatic balance, and a paper on center of gravity of solids, which made him a lecturer and a teacher at the University of Pisa. He had made many things famous and most of them weren't his. He had sketches of microscopes but never invented it. He also didn't invent the telescope but he did made it famous. His telescopes was made from another telescope from europe. That telescope was only able to magnify objects 3 times its size, but Galileo’s telescope was able to magnify objects 20 times its normal size. This helped him view space a whole new way like how the sun is the center and not the earth. He also discovered that Venus and Earth’s moon had phase which also helped him with his theory about the heliocentric view.
