The experiment was formed to determine the amount of species richness in both general areas. The hypothesis that was formed stated: that the Winthrop Lake area would have a greater amount of species diversity than the golf course area based on effects of temperature, wind speed, and local habits. New Take on Tropical Songbirds’ Alternative Lifestyles A breakthrough study published on Friday in the journal Science uses life history theory to explain why tropical songbirds typically raise fewer chicks than temperate songbirds. The Puerto Rican Parrot, Amazona vittata, is the only native parrot species in Puerto Rico and, unfortunately, it is an endangered species. Therefore, it is very important for the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DNER) to preserve existing individuals and their habitat, as well as supervising recovery programs for the species. The research comes amid debate over whether some of the birds flew across the border into Texas and should be listed under the Endangered Species Act. Parrots in U.S. urban areas are just starting to draw attention from scientists because of their intelligence, resourcefulness and ability to adapt. There is also a growing realization that the city dwellers may offer a population that could help save certain species from extinction.…

The most striking element to me about the Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina is that the elevations of the Patagonia glaciers can reach around 3,000 meters above sea level compared to other glaciers. I can only imagine the great sceneries of the glaciers within this National Park due to this higher elevation. Also, since there are numerous glaciers that melt, two massive lakes called Lake Argentino and Lake Viedma, formed. Perito Moreno Glacier is the biggest and most striking one. The images I have seen of these glaciers look very impressive and are a scenic miracle to me.…
