Gache Wag Essay

In this artwork created by Yuni Kim Lang, Gache wig is the focus of her art. Yuni manipulated different types of textiles to create this dynamic sculpture of large wigs to which refers to traditional Korean hair pieces worn by women of high status. Comfort Hair is a live sculpture that is inspired by the Gache, and it is now located in The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum in FIU.
The art exhibition has a very clean and lively entrance, with all the frames hung and a dim light fixating on each of them. Every photo is emphasizing the big contrast between the women dressed in white and the black Gache wig that they are all wearing.
