Gabrielle Christina Victoria Douglas was born on December 31, 1995. When Gabby was little she used to have a lucky rock and before competing she would rub the rock three times onto her clothes. In addition, her coach calls Gabby “the flying squirrel” whenever she did the bars. She spend over 18,000 hours training for her first Olympics in 2012 which was taking place in London. As a result, she set a record for the most cartwheels performed at the same time. Gabby Douglas almost quit right before the 2012 Olympics. She was close to quitting because she wanted to spend her time like an average teenage girl.
