For my research assignment ,I chose Gabriela Mistral,a famous educator,humanitarian,and poet. I found that Gabriela Mistral was a strong woman with a great sense of poetry ,which is one of the reasonings I chose her. I also selected her because she opened doors in the League of Nations/U.N and educated many people as a women.I thought 3 things were very interesting about Gabriela. From research ,I thought her alias name,Lucila Godoy y Alcayaga very interesting.Second, she was the first Latin American author to win a Nobel prize in literature.Finally,her books talked on the modernist movement.Gabriela’s alias name interested me because it was long and it was recognizable as a Latin name;I thought that an author would want to hide the fact
