Group 3’s goal was to identify the role of the learning and training professional(s). The role of the training professional is evident in GTU’s mission and the various departments' mission statement. The website's design clearly shows a "student-centered learning community that fosters educational and personal development. It has an excellent platform for autonomous learning, and; although, precisely encourages students to actively engage in collaborative and social learning, not much was found, in this vein, for academic staff. For example, GTU has student mentoring and tutoring programs; albeit, none found for staff, yet GTU encourage staff and students to focus on their own academic success, while providing easy access to the knowledge management system. This is also evident in a program called EduWorks that address or focus on educational issues through discussion, community outreach, and even host guest speaker events.
