Genetically modified foods and organisms have been around for almost forty-three years. The first genetically modified organism was created in 1974 and it is now 2017. Genetically modified food has not been labeled for about forty-three years and that is a long time for consumers to not know what exactly they are eating. Many laws have, in fact, been placed on labeling GM products such as The Vermont GMO Labeling Law and the Biosafety and Biotechnology Bill of 2012 in Uganda. The Vermont GMO Labeling Law has been passed, however, it was overturned.
