Most people don’t know what a GMO is and what they do, but most people know that they are harmful and unsafe. A GMO is a genetically modified organism, it can be in foods or animals, and they are doing much more harm than help. Many genetically modified organisms are either cross bred with other species creating a whole new species, or a gene gun is used to shoot new DNA into an organism. Most consumers are injesting GMO's daily without even realizing their presence, but GMO's are not a good thing to consume. GMO's should be regulated because, modified food are harmful for our consumption, modifying animals holds unintended consequences, and genetically modifying humans is morally wrong and can lead to more harm than help.

Morals are a big part of why we shouldn't alter humans, this quotes give the obvious that not everything is meant to be done. This quote is referring to using science to using a product to stop dying and to live for longer than normal which is bad for many obvious reasons, one being that it goes against the laws of nature, another is that if we live past the normal life expectancy life would become boring and not the fun like the lives we live now where one. Humans have the average lifespan of about 80 years "Everyone dies eventually… No more"(Pearson 204). This quote is referring to a character that will not die because she was genetically modified. This would be bad if everyone would live forever because there would be overpopulation which leads to starvation for many people, which means genetic engineering would have created more problems than it fixed.
