The perspective that this book is written for an older audience is too limited because Heinrichs uses countless examples that include his children using rhetoric. The author even suggests a tip on editing your resume by ethos instead of chronology, which appeals to a spectrum of ages. This book so far has encouraged me to fine-tune my words in order to persuade someone successfully. An example of this would be the chapter which Heinrichs clarifies how the use of verb tenses affects our perception of the text; this encourages me to use less of the past tense and more of the future tense. I have yet to use any of these strategies, however I would use them in arguments with my parents, as we often go into the past tense and tend to blame each
