Future of GMO: The future of GMOs are moving at a rapid pace. California is in one of the worst droughts it has ever experienced. Monsanto’s has finally created the only plant to grow without the need for water, corn. Because of this, scientist are able to unlock the potential properties of plants that could revolutionize the way farmer’s farm. There are also scientist that have genetically modified animals. Scientist will be able to create more crops that are disease and insect resistant also. From the genetically modified seed to the picture perfect cow are in the near future. This will enable scientist to cure more diseases like cancer, chronic wasting disease and various other complicated enemies that have evaded doctors for centuries.

If it were not for Monsanto GMOs, there would not have been the chemical Agent Orange that affected thousands of military servicemen and women, saccharin commonly known as sweet and low known to cause cancer or polychlorinated biphenyls which have been implicated in reproductive, developmental and immune system disorders. DuPont manufactured DDT, PCBs, and Agent Orange, just like Monsanto. DuPont has dumped carcinogenic chemicals into people’s water supplies repeatedly, and even though they’ve been sued for it multiple times, they continue to do so. They have spent millions to make sure that GMO labeling initiatives are defeated so that American are not allowed to know what they are eating. Syngenta has been charged for covering up the death of livestock because of its genetically modified Bt corn. We mention this things because it is these major companies that are changing the way we eat and farm. The argument is for the betterment of mankind but the reality is it is for their own personal gain. As Americans, it is our fundamental right to know what we put in our mouths and the mouths of our families. Populations replenish themselves rapidly which makes the few expendable. If you look short term, GMOs are the cure to solve all ills. But it is not the now one should be worried about because cancer is long term as so American s should also look long term.
