Milestones in the Future That Will Affect Where I will be in the Future

When I think about milestones in my life, I have to think about my past milestones because they are what build my character to the person I am today. The fact that I am the youngest of five boys and the only one to graduate high school and also when I chose to join the marines knowing I have never been outside of Montgomery. Those are milestones that changed the way I look at life and also myself but my future milestones are what’s importance to me at this point because attaining my Bachelor’s degree is a stepping stone for me to start my own business.

Now here I am a week after achieving the biggest milestone in my life, riding on a bus on the way to Paris Island South Carolina. This experience is what mold me into the man I am today. The three months I spent in basic training pushed my body, mind, and faith to limits that as a young boy I didn’t know I had. Everything that I did there I never done until that day from swimming to holding a rifle but when I was done I left with the knowledge that I can do …show more content…

Getting my Associates degree from Virginia College was a big milestones but me aiming high for the Bachelors something that I know will put a smile on my grandmother face.
Once I attain my Bachelor’s degree I know I will have the knowledge and also the connections that I need to have a solid foundation to start my own business. The Bertuli Story It is known that passing stories down from one family member to another keeps the memories alive. The same can be said for those who have served in our military. Getting personal information from someone who has experienced that part of life can be so important in keeping those memories, both good and not-so-good alive. In interviewing Mr. Leonard Bertuli, a United States Marine from Mark, IL, my partner Seth Carlson and I learned more about his life before entering military, his experiences while in the military, specifically during those taking place during the Vietnam war.…

The blue midnight sky was glistening with infinite stars that lay above my slanted head as I watched the twilight moon above me. Glancing down my hand, catching sight of the time gave me the realization that this was actually happening. Months of preparation, years of mental training and the day had come faster than ever. My mind and heart were trapped in the though and mission of protecting and defending my country, the country that gave me everything and was everything. I was 22, they call me Mailto Sonu with a passion of going into the military as a young child, and the curiosity filled in my head of what it would feel like to stand on the rusty, rough, and coarse sand.…

My body hurt, I could barely move, and my legs would not stop cramping. “Push on," I yelled as we continued our ascent up the mountain dubbed the Reaper. That hike was the last thing that stood in my way of earning the coveted Eagle, Globe, and Anchor. I would become a Marine. I would not know it until after the evolution, but we hiked over 50 miles and trained for 54 hours all with little food and sleep.…

Reflecting on Anna Harrington’s “Where There is a Will, There’s a Way” essay brings memories of challenging events I experienced during my career in the U.S. Army (Harrington, 2012). One challenging time requiring resiliency was my attendance and subsequent graduation of the U.S. Army Ranger course. Throughout 20 hour days, 1 meal per day and little recovery time; I often had the opportunity to deliberate on whether this was important enough for all the suffering one had to endure. While in a particular phase of training in the swamps and rivers in Florida, I injured my right knee and was offered the opportunity to be given a medical recycle or simply quit if I wished. Besides the fact my duty unit had a never quit unless your dead mentality, I had endured harsher environments and injuries while conducting regular training.…

Growing up I have always dreamed of starting my business and managing every detail in it, I started studying the most famous businesses and what the imperfections in these businesses are, just to make sure that in the future if I do start my business, I do not make these mistakes. Starting a small business can be easy, but I always think through on how I can make it big and successful. The reasons I wish to study business administration is that I believe that if I graduate with this degree, I can become qualified to work in many business fields such as finance, accounting, and other aspects of the "money business". Most of my family members are currently working on their businesses ( banks, boutiques, restaurants, etc...), this encourages…
