It was 11/7/2016, which meant that from 3-5pm at Arc XVI Fort Washington case workers and interns have group supervision. The Assistant Executive Director Diana was in charge of running the group; it was also actually the first time met her officially. The topic being covered that day was based on “Standards” what it means and how we as an organization can meet our standards. The group leader explained how non-profit organizations are created and how the funders evaluate them. She even went on to explain how non-profits are tax-exempts because they provide social beneficiary services to the community.…
Road Trip Nation Reflection Our Road Trip Nation project consisted of interviews with Larandust Coleman, Senior Assistant Athletic Trainer for Football at the University of Mississippi, and Dr. Rebecca Lowe, Clinical Assistant Professor and Co-director of Speech and Hearing Clinic. Both interviews consisted of a similar set of questions, varying only slightly based on their occupation and field. Throughout the Road Trip Nation interview process, in addition to reviewing the interviews in their entirety, I was not only able to gain key insights from someone in the working world, but also observe certain favorable career aspects, and react to the overall information and advice they shared with us. Over the course of our interviewing process there were numerous beneficial lessons to be learned from both interactions.…
For Bioquest this semester we had to attend an event that was different from our normal activities, an event that would have a wide range of diversity at it. To accomplish this assignment I attended the career fair that the University of Wisconsin Platteville host every year. This career fair took place in Ullsvik Hall and I attended Monday September 28, which was the day for agricultural and biology majors. Since I had to wait five hours till my next class I went to the career fair around one and stayed till the end at two. We began quarter 6 on a high note. We were ranked as the highest performing group and experienced improvements in each category of interest. However, our goals that need to be reached by quarter 8 will require a lot more progress. At the rate at which each category is currently progressing, our team needed to focus on increasing diversity, improving productivity, and promoting more innovation. Figuring out my Personal Retirement plan has been an absolute eye opener. Instead of daydreaming about where I will be thirty or forty years from now, I have actually taking out the time to sit down analyze my finances and plan for the future. Having a definite number to target for annual savings is better than using a ballpark number that sounds good, now I know how much money would be Ideal to live comfortably at wiser years.
